NAIFA is pleased to announce that Michelle Harris has joined the NAIFA team as Vice President of Business Development and External Relations.

Harris has more than 16 years of executive-level experience in the association sector, most recently as Vice President, Programs, Marketing, and Membership at the Software & Information Industry Association.

As Vice President of Business Development, Harris will focus on increasing support of agents and advisors through strategic corporate partnerships. She will work directly with companies and other organizations in the insurance and financial services industry on business development efforts to build and benefit NAIFA’s membership. Harris will report to NAIFA CEO Kevin Mayeux, CAE.

“I am very excited to welcome a professional with Michelle’s experience and track record of success to the NAIFA team,” said Mayeux. “She will build on our existing, strong relationships with insurance and financial services companies, as well as broker-dealer groups, agencies, and other influential organizations, and forge new connections to ensure NAIFA remains the strongest, most influential association for financial professionals in the United States.”

Harris has an MS in Marketing from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a BA in Urban Studies from the University of the District of Columbia. She has experience in multiple industries through her association work and obtained her life and health insurance producer license in Maryland, Virginia, and DC early in her career.

She has served on several nonprofit boards in the Greater Washington, DC, area as well as on advisory boards in the insurance and financial services sector.

“I look forward to hitting the ground running with NAIFA and making the most of this great opportunity,” Harris said. “Relationships and relationship building are the lifeblood of any professional association, and I am excited to get to work on behalf of NAIFA and its membership to develop and nurture strong relationships with leading companies in the insurance and financial services industry. I am thrilled to be working on behalf of agents and advisors who help Main Street Americans from every community across the country achieve financial security.”
