Conference attendees assembled food kits for Hurricane Dorian victims and education aids for local school children

Members of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, in Orlando for their annual Performance + Purpose conference, donated their time, effort, and artistic abilities to promote the mission of Hands on Orlando, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the homeless and hungry, children, at-risk families, seniors, veterans, women, environment, animals and so much more.

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, the first day of the P+P conference, NAIFA members participated in four different Hands on Orlando projects:

  • Assembling food kits to be delivered to victims of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas,
  • Decorating piggy banks to be distributed at public schools along with a basic financial literacy guide for children,
  • Assembling “smarty bracelets” to help children spark an interest in STEM careers, and
  • Packaging “Puzzles with a Purpose” that help school children develop critical thinking and math skills.

“Insurance and financial professionals have a strong sense of community involvement, so when we gather for our Performance + Purpose conference NAIFA always tries to make a contribution to our host community,” said NAIFA President Jill Judd. “Helping people is in NAIFA members’ blood, so partnering with Hands on Orlando while we are in town is a natural fit.”
