Congratulations to Life Happens for receiving a prestigious Silver Telly Award for Best Not-for-Profit Video in the 47th Annual Telly Awards. This national recognition honors the outstanding work Life Happens is doing to educate consumers, elevate the importance of financial protection, and share powerful stories that move people to take action.

The award-winning Real Life Story video, “Protected by Planning,” features NAIFA member Braden Draggoo and the Pleasants family. It tells the story of firefighter Ryan Pleasants, who died in the line of duty at just 41 years old. Because Ryan had planned ahead with life insurance, his wife, Raquel, and their children were able to continue moving forward financially during an unimaginable time. As Raquel shares in the video, life insurance gave her the ability to focus on her children and continue building the future she and Ryan had dreamed of for their family.

Life Happens is an important part of the NAIFA community and a major benefit for our members. Through Life Happens, members have exclusive access to consumer-facing content, marketing resources, and educational tools, including the Real Life Stories program. These resources help financial professionals connect with clients and prospects in a meaningful way by showing the real impact of life insurance, disability insurance, long-term care, and other protection products.

Stories like this remind us why our work matters. They show the human side of financial planning and the lasting difference NAIFA members make in the lives of families, businesses, and communities across the country. I am especially proud to see a NAIFA member featured in a nationally recognized story that so clearly demonstrates the value of what our profession provides.

Life Happens invites all NAIFA members to submit a Real Life story to recognize the role of these products. Share your own story or a client's story. Here's how it works.

Congratulations again to Life Happens, Braden Draggoo, and everyone involved in bringing this powerful story to life.
