Marc Sigmon, NAIFA member and CEO of Marc Sigmon Insurance Agency, is the Leader of NAIFA-CA's San Diego affiliate. Sigmon joined NAIFA California in 2020 and was inspired to take on a bigger role after he attended NAIFA’s annual Congressional Conference.
"The Congressional Conference was an amazing experience," said Sigmon. "It made me want to get more involved at the state level and I am honored to have the opportunity to represent NAIFA-California as Leader Affiliate, San Diego."
The San Diego affiliate operates under NAIFA-CA and is designed to grow membership, organize meetings and events, keep members engaged, and promote and foster relationships at the state and federal levels. Sigmon, a twenty-year Navy veteran, lost his stepdad unexpectedly and
"My story is what drives my passion to help families when that unexpected moment happens," said Sigmon. “No one should have to worry about how they will survive financially after the loss of a loved one.” Marc prides himself on not only placing policies with families but providing service to his clients as their lives and needs change.
His journey in the insurance industry started in 2015, he worked for various insurance companies over the years in the field of Medicare and long-term care. In 2018 he took a leap of faith and went independent. In 2020, Sigmon started the Marc Sigmon Insurance Agency.
"There is a lot of confusion about insurance and it's our job to educate our clients on what they are signing up for," Sigmon said. "This isn't a one size fits all industry. You have to customize policies for each individual that fits their situation."
Sigmon’s first duty as Affiliate Leader is to help organize and bring awareness to NAIFA-CA's state conference, also referred to as E3 for Empower, Engage, and Explore, which will be held Sept 29 – Oct 1. The NAIFA-CA E3 conference will focus on growing your business, increasing your productivity, and emerging from the pandemic better than ever. Additionally, NAIFA National President and long-time NAIFA-CA member Tom Michel will be in attendance for the conference and on the main stage.
“I was contacted by a fellow advisor, Sara Martin, and was informed that the state conference would be held in San Diego, which also fell on my stepdad's birthday,” Sigmon said. “The stars just aligned and I knew I needed to be a part of NAIFA.”
Sigmon is excited to take on a greater leadership role within NAIFA-CA. He also earned his MBA in June of 2021 from Keller Graduate school of management.
Thank you, Marc Sigmon, for your service to our industry and association. We’re #NAIFAproud to call you one of our own.
