Throughout his career, Todd Gottshall has dedicated himself to helping people. After working as a corrections officer and in property management, he wanted to find a career that would allow him to spend more time with his family and found the right fit at NAIFA 100% Agency Weigner Insurance and Financial Services.
As an insurance specialist, Gottshall works with a wide variety of clients, helping to protect them with life insurance and property and casualty insurance. He shares two experiences that helped shape him as an insurance professional.
Before he got his life insurance license, he saw the impact life insurance can have. He had a family member with a young son and a wife who was pregnant with their second child. The family member had a severe allergic reaction to a bee sting and suffered a brain injury. After months in the hospital and then being on hospice he had unfortunately passed. They were devastated, but he had a life insurance policy that protected them so that his wife didn’t have to return to work immediately while raising two children alone. She was able to grieve without worrying whether they could stay in their home or pay for childcare.
That experience inspired Gottshall to get his life insurance license and, since then, he’s written life insurance policies of his own. One of those policies is for a good friend who provides financial support to his extended family as well as his wife and children. “What motivates me is making sure people are properly covered,” he begins. “That they are educated on the different aspects of insurance and why it's important to have the proper coverage so that their loved ones and the things they work for their whole lives are properly covered.”
Gottshall learned about NAIFA when he joined Weigner. He’s looking forward to building connections with like-minded professionals who can offer advice and support. “[Fellow NAIFA members] aren't your competition,” he says. “They’re your friends.” Gottshall also appreciates NAIFA’s advocacy on behalf of clients and the industry as a whole.
When he’s not working, Gottshall enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He coaches his 6-year-old son’s sports teams and the family loves visiting the Poconos, being in nature and unplugging from the stresses of everyday life.
Thank you, Todd, for your hard work and dedication. We look forward to a bright future in the association for you and are #NAIFAproud to call you one of our own.
