When Christopher Faulk started out in the financial services industry, he could tell there was something missing. As a commercial loan officer, he was helping people, but there were other aspects of his clients’ financial pictures that weren’t being addressed. He wanted to offer a more comprehensive financial service.
In 2019, Faulk joined New York Life, and their holistic approach to addressing clients’ needs was exactly what he was looking for. Now, he protects families as an insurance agent and helps clients with their investment needs as a registered representative.
Faulk's goal is to change his clients’ futures by educating them about financial strategies and putting those strategies in place. He works hard every day for his clients. While he currently focuses on estate planning and business succession strategies, he also wants to help families with wealth accumulation.
Faulk discusses one experience that helped him see the impact of his work. He had a client who sold an investment property for a $400,000 profit. She was looking into annuities, but Faulk suggested permanent life insurance as a foundation for financial security and the cash value that comes with it for the opportunity of tax-deferred growth. He explained the advantages of permanent life insurance to his client. Not only would she have access to the policy’s cash value*, but the policy would also provide a death benefit, a legacy for her beneficiaries. Faulk was right because the recommendation he proposed best met his client’s needs and goals. His client was able to leverage her $400,000 proceeds from the sale of the investment property into obtaining over $1.5 million face amount of a permanent life insurance policy.
Faulk first heard of NAIFA through his manager at New York Life, who told him NAIFA was one of the few organizations that really helped him in his career. Faulk describes his thoughts at the time: “If I'm going to join a professional organization, I want it to have an impact on my career.” Last year, Faulk chose to join NAIFA among dozens of other options and became a member of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table.
When he’s not in the office, Faulk enjoys spending time with his wife and children. An avid reader, he loves books about history, self-improvement, and the insurance and financial services industry. He’s also a life-long music lover and has been playing blues guitar for over 45 years.
Thank you, Christopher, for your hard work and dedication. We look forward to a bright future in the association for you and are #NAIFAproud to call you one of our own.
*Accessing cash value will reduce the available cash surrender value and death benefit of the policy.
