Jeremie Latremore, CIC, grew up in the insurance industry. His grandparents started an insurance agency in 1965 that his father and uncle went on to work for, but Jeremie didn’t plan on joining the family business until he realized in college, “insurance was in my blood.”
More than twenty years later, Latremore still loves what he does. In addition to having unlimited earning potential and a flexible schedule, he enjoys truly helping people. “It’s exciting and rewarding at the same time,” he begins. "Finding that creative solution that no one else found is my goal every day.” Now a general agent, Latremore says the most important qualities for new team members are strong problem-solving and communication skills, especially listening skills.
Making a difference in people’s lives is what keeps Latremore motivated. He talks about one instance when he was working with members of a multi-generational excavation company. Many of the family members relied on the business, so Latremore helped them build a succession plan to make sure the business would be protected if one of them were to pass. When the second-generation father died unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident, the plan did just that. The grandfather didn’t have to go back into the field, and the son wasn’t thrust into his father’s role unprepared. The family was able to grieve without having to sell the business or face economic hardship. “If it wasn't for the plan that we put in place. the business would not be able to operate,” says Latremore. “Without that, they would not have been able to hire somebody to come in and manage the business and be a mentor to the son.”
When he’s not working, Latremore is active in his community in Stillwater, NY. He volunteers with local community organizations and at his church. He and his wife stay busy keeping up with their three children’s dance recitals, plays, and lacrosse, soccer, and little league games.
Thank you, Jeremie, for your hard work and dedication. We look forward to a bright future in the association for you and are #NAIFAproud to call you one of our own.
