An agent with Missouri Insurance Advisors, Ryan Mooneyham serves his community in Springfield, Missouri.
After more than two decades of working in hospitality and human resources, Mooneyham decided to transition to insurance and financial services. Now, he helps his clients navigate the complexities of Medicare through a 6-month process called “nurturing.” His focus is education first—making sure his clients understand their options and use their benefits effectively.
In a typical day, Mooneyham wears many hats, from meeting with clients to coordinating with community organizations to working with professionals in related fields, such as local health organizations.
Over the years, Mooneyham has helped many clients through their Medicare journeys. He talks about an experience that reinforced for him the importance of his work. He was working with a 64-year-old client who had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He helped her get the right Medicare supplemental coverage and walked her through what to expect during each step of the process, including how to plan her travel for appointments.
Mooneyham learned about NAIFA from Jennifer Hodges, a loyal NAIFA member since 2002. She saw his passion for education and his community and knew that he would be a good advocate for Main Street Americans. Many of his clients are on limited incomes and Mooneyham wants to advocate to keep costs down for them and to keep the budgets of programs they depend on from being cut. He talks about the impact advocacy has on the insurance and financial services profession, saying, “From the advocacy level, I believe the more I know, the more I can help—not only our firm, but also Southwest Missouri. I’m one voice among many and I'm hoping my voice is strong enough.”
When he’s not working, Mooneyham stays involved in his community and hosts several events with the American Legion. He is a semi-professional darts player and volunteers as an area manager for the American Darts Organization.
Thank you, Ryan, for your hard work and dedication. We look forward to a bright future in the association for you and are #NAIFAproud to call you one of our own.
