NAIFA-California has announced that Larry R. Lee, CLU, ChFC, is the recipient of the 21st annual NAIFA-California Distinguished Service Award. The honor is bestowed on individuals who have demonstrated meritorious service to the insurance and financial-services industry, and the community in ways that enhance the image of the agent/advisor. Lee will receive the award May 22, 2012, at the NAIFA-California Annual Meeting in Monterey, California.

"Larry has served as one of our illustrious Past Presidents, and continues to serve us through his national involvement on our most important committees," says NAIFA-California President Michael K. Fiamingo, LUTCF. "Larry's unselfish volunteerism and mentorship set an example for which all our members aspire."

"On behalf of the selection committee, it is our pleasure to select Larry as the 2012 Distinguished Service Award recipient," says Darrell Shideler, CLU, LUTCF, CFP, ChFC, FIC, chairperson of the selection committee. "Receiving this award is the highest NAIFA-California honor that can be achieved for a lifetime of service."

Lee, an accomplished business owner, speaker and political activist, was a former president of NAIFA-California, the largest state organization within the NAIFA federation, as well as president of numerous local boards and commissions, including his local association, NAIFA-Orange County.

Lee has spoken at numerous financial-services organizations throughout California, educating the public and industry on the importance of life and health insurance, and the critical role of insurance agents.

"Larry's dedication to the institution of insurance is beyond reproach," says NAIFA-California Executive Vice President, David V. Dellinger. "I can't think of a better ambassador or spokesperson for our association and our profession."
