Disability insurance carriers and distribution firms have been talking about the need to bring new blood into disability insurance sales.

Petersen International Underwriters, Valencia, Calif., will be trying to build awareness among young advisors and new advisors this fall by making a splash in Las Vegas at the annual meeting of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), Falls Church, Va.

Petersen, a firm that underwrites high-limit income protection arrangements, will exhibit at the conference, which is set to start Sept. 8.

Mark Petersen, a senior vice president at the firm, will lead an introductory workshop on income protection products, and the Petersen firm will sponsor a hospitality for advisors who are under 40 or who have less than 5 years of experience in the insurance industry.

The young advisors party will feature Petersen International's traditional Viking toast, the firm says.

The NAIFA meeting also will feature a session on the 3in4 Need More long-term care insurance (LTCI) awareness campaign. Margie Barrie, a longtime LifeHealthPro.com contributor, will lead the LTCI session.
