Family members described real life stories of love and loss during the LIFE organization’s annual presentation at the NAIFA annual meeting in Las Vegas.

In realLIEFstories, family members told of how life insurance protected their financial security after the loss of a father, enabled a son to pursue his dream to win a gold medal for the U.S. in the Paralympic Games in Vancouver, and provided peace of mind for a family whose father would require long-term care after suffering a massive stroke.

Lissete Mondes de Oca, who lost her husband to leukemia at age 47, said the life insurance policy they had purchased from their advisor ensured that her two boys could continue on with their lives and go to college. In describing his experience as their friend and advisor, Pedro Busse of New York Life said this: “As their friend, you feel so helpless when a friend dies. But as an advisor, I felt I was able to help them in so many ways , more than anyone else could have possibly imagined.”
