FALLS CHURCH, VA — Financial services reform on Capitol Hill and the role insurance agents and financial advisors play in helping consumers secure long-range financial security are among the topics to be discussed at the 2015 Career Conference and Annual Meeting of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).
The conference and exhibition will be held Oct. 3-5 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
“This is NAIFA’s largest face-to-face gathering, and it draws advisors from every part of the country and every practice specialty,” said NAIFA CEO Kevin Mayeux, CAE. "We have an impressive slate of Main Stage speakers who will offer practical advice and inspiration. Conference workshops drill deeper into what makes insurance agents and advisors successful, providing everything from expert practice-management tips and sales ideas to regulatory updates and product discussions.”
Sessions are organized under topics tailored to the different interests and needs of NAIFA members, including life insurance and annuities, multiline, health and employee benefits, financial advising and investments and sales and marketing. On Monday, Oct. 5, the NAIFA Government Relations Team will provide a briefing on the critical legislative and regulatory challenges facing the industry, including the Department of Labor’s proposed fiduciary rules.
The conference will feature Life Happens’ Real LIFE Stories, which will include a presentation by NAIFA President Juli Y. McNeely, LUTCF, CFP, CLU. Peter C. Browne, LUTCF, co-founder of Price, Raffel & Browne, is the recipient of the 74th annual John Newton Russell Memorial Award.
