NAIFA Past President Norman G. Levine

NAIFA is sorry to report the death of NAIFA Past President, Norman Levine, CLU, ChFC, CSA.  He passed away on November 20, 2015, at the age of 89.

Levine served as president of several industry organizations, including NAIFA, GAMA and LUTC. He was also a national officer for MDRT and received numerous honors, including the John Newton Russell Memorial Award and the GAMA Hall of Fame.

He was the author of nine professional books, and was a renowned speaker who did business with, and gave motivational talks to, over half a million people in all 50 states of the United States and in 32 countries. He was invited to the White House by two presidents and made an impact on the lives of thousands of people throughout his career.

Levine was an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin and a dedicated and loving family person. He leaves behind his wife, Sandy, 3 children – Linda Pfeiffer (Al Mayer), Dan Levine (Nancy) and Don Levine (Katie), 5 grandchildren – Michael Pfeiffer, Michelle Levine, Bradley Levine, Allison Levine, and Stephanie Levine, a brother George Levine, and many wonderful friends.

As editor of NAIFA’s Advisor Today magazine, I worked with Levine on several occasions, and he never hesitated to tell me about the miracle that is life insurance. As he said many times during his career, he worked in the life insurance business for the first seven years and then it became his calling for the next 60 years.

We will miss him dearly. Please considering sharing your thoughts of Norm using the comments feature below.
