NAIFA Members to Convene for Performance+Purpose Conference

NAIFA’s Performance + Purpose Conference in Las Vegas, Sept. 17-19

Rebranded, revamped conference to emphasize professional and personal growth for advisors

FALLS CHURCH, VA — NAIFA’s Performance + Purpose 2016 conference will feature the brightest stars in the insurance and financial services industry sharing their motivational, inspirational and practical insights on how to be successful in business and life.

The Department of Labor’s new fiduciary regulation will be the focus of several sessions, including NAIFA’s four-hour Skill Builders workshop designed to help advisors best serve their clients under the new rule. The conference program also includes a Main Stage presentation by renowned communications and public opinion expert Frank Luntz, as well as workshops, presentations and other events emphasizing professional development, motivation, advocacy success, and networking.

Performance + Purpose 2016, formerly known as the NAIFA Career Conference and Annual Meeting, will he held Sept. 17-19 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

“Performance + Purpose is not just the same old NAIFA Conference with a new name,” said NAIFA CEO Kevin Mayeux, CAE. “We have preserved everything that made the previous NAIFA conferences successful, but have raised the conference to a new level, emphasizing workshops and main stage sessions designed to boost advisors’ performance and foster their sense of purpose in our great industry.”

Sessions are organized under topics tailored to the different interests and needs of NAIFA members, including life insurance and annuities, multiline, health and employee benefits, financial advising and investments and sales and marketing. On Monday, Sept. 19, the NAIFA Government Relations Team will provide a briefing on the critical legislative and regulatory challenges facing the industry, including the DOL fiduciary rule.

Main stage speaker Frank Luntz is one of the most honored and expert communication professionals in America today. He pioneered the “Instant Response” technique that dives into the intersection of communications and public opinion to deliver precise data for clients in both the political and private sectors. He will share insights on how to find and use the right words to communicate with more influence. As a bonus in this election year, Luntz with deliver his roundup and analysis of the latest in polling and communications from the 2016 campaign trail.

The conference will feature Life Happens’ Real LIFE Stories as well as presentation of the 75th annual John Newton Russell Memorial Award to D. Scott Brennan, a career MassMutual agent from South Bend, Ind. The award is the highest honor accorded by the insurance industry to a living individual who has rendered outstanding services to the institution of life insurance. The conference also will host more than 60 exhibitors that serve all facets of the industry.
