NAIFA Helps You Be a Great Political Advocate on Behalf of Your Business and Clients

NAIFA's Financial Security Advocate Academy is a fun and informative program available to NAIFA members at no cost. It provides insights and training that will financial professionals great political advocates on behalf of their businesses and clients. Decisions made in Washington, D.C., and state capitals can do as much as poor planning to derail consumers' finances. Financial professionals simply are not providing comprehensive services for their clients if they are not politically aware and involved.

Financial Security Advocates have the training, knowledge, and skills to fully participate in the political process, exert their grassroots influence, and amplify NAIFA's advocacy message on behalf of their businesses, colleagues, clients, and communities. 

This online, self-paced course includes 6 modules:

1) Introduction to Citizen Advocacy
2) Crafting Your Message
3) Preparing for a Meeting
4) Conducting a Meeting
5) How to Build Relationships with Lawmakers
6) Advanced Citizen Advocacy Strategies

Four times a year, NAIFA makes the FSA available to members via a single-sitting webinar. The next Academy will take place Wednesday, July 24 at 2 pm eastern. To register, NAIFA members need to log in to the NAIFA member portal and then follow the drop-down menu Advocate>Grassroots>Financial Security Advocate Academy

Those who complete the course receive the Financial Security Advocate badge from Credly that they can put on their social media accounts. The badge also upgrades NAIFA members' consumer-facing profile on www.financialsecurity.org to show the badge. Badge holders' names are proudly displayed as a Financial Security Advocate to their peers and are featured on signage at key NAIFA signature events, like the Congressional Conference and National Leadership Conference. Becoming a Financial Security Advocate is also one step in becoming a members of NAIFA's exclusive Triangle Team.

The July FSA Academy is perfectly timed to educate NAIFA members before this year's summer in-district meeting. Each summer, NAIFA members across the country meet with their lawmakers in their home district during the summer Congressional recess.
