NAIFA State Chapter Presidents Take Office, Highlighting State Advocacy Influence

Written by NAIFA | 1/6/22 7:36 PM

NAIFA is pleased to announce that its 2022 State Chapter Presidents have taken office as of January 1. State Presidents provide leadership for their states’ advocacy team, drive their states’ grassroots influence, build participation in NAIFA state legislative days and send state representatives to NAIFA’s annual Congressional Conference in Washington, D.C.

State Chapter Presidents play a vital role in NAIFA’s current and future success under this model. On January 1, 2019, NAIFA’s membership voted for changes to the NAIFA bylaws that have completely restructured and modernized the association. The new structure leverages the strengths of NAIFA state chapters to move forward as one NAIFA and provide members with the highest possible return on their membership investment.

“‘Strong State. Strong Nation.’ is a slogan we use for NAIFA’s unparalleled political advocacy at the state level. But it also applies to NAIFA Nation as a whole,” said NAIFA President Lawrence Holzberg, LUTCF, LACP. “When policymakers look for a trusted resource to understand constituent viewpoints, policymakers look to NAIFA. Our State President serves as the voice of their respective members and primary liaison to the regulators and media. Additionally, our team of State Presidents come together regularly to ensure that we work in lockstep to implement NAIFA’s Strategic Plan.

“State presidents are vital to NAIFA’s integrated federal, interstate, and state advocacy influence that makes NAIFA the only producer association fully prepared to take on legislative and regulatory challenges impacting insurance and financial professionals as wells as the families and businesses they serve,” said NAIFA Senior Vice President for Government Relations Diane Boyle. “Our coordinated state efforts provide an early warning system that allows us to influence policy proposals before they spread from state to state or even between the states and the federal government. This is crucial in our efforts to make legislation and regulations as beneficial as possible for NAIFA members and the Main Street communities they serve.”

The 2022 State Chapter Presidents are NAIFA members who have achieved great professional success, shown a strong commitment to serving the best interests of their clients, and demonstrated extraordinary leadership. They have been passionately involved in NAIFA, serving in leadership positions and on committees at the chapter and national levels.

They are wholly invested in NAIFA’s political advocacy. They participate in grassroots events, contribute to IFAPAC, or – in the vast majority of cases – both. NAIFA’s 2022 Chapter Presidents include members who have been recognized for their leadership and service. They include recipients of the NAIFA Quality Award (NQA), Young Advisor Team (YAT) Leader of the Year, and NAIFA Diversity Champion awards, as well as other honors.
