NAIFA Trustees Win Havir and Aprilyn Chavez Geissler and member Sue Kuraja appeared on a panel at the recent Women in Insurance and Financial Services  (WIFS) National Conference in Phoenix to discuss: "What If the True Kingmaker Is the Queen? Taking the Power of Women to the Polls."

NAIFA IFAPAC contributors received an exclusive elections update from nationally renowned political expert Nathan Gonzales. The webinar provided a big picture overview six weeks out from the November midterms and insights into factors that could turn specific races for House and Senate seats as well as state governorships and determine who will make decisions that will impact NAIFA members’ businesses and clients.

The NAIFA Family Response Fund is open to assist members of the association who suffer losses due to Hurricane Ian, which is expected to impact much of Florida as a potentially catastrophic storm. The Fund is also open to assist NAIFA members who suffered losses due to Hurricane Fiona in Puerto Rico and the federally declared Mississippi Water Crisis.

NAIFA is proud to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 - October 15. 

NAIFA’s Committee on Governance has nominated Douglas B. Massey, LUTCF, FSS, Owner of Doug Massey Financial Services in San Angelo, TX, to be the 2023 NAIFA Secretary. A current member of NAIFA’s Board of Trustees, Massey has been a loyal NAIFA member since 1987. As incoming Secretary, Massey will be in line to serve as President-Elect in 2024 and President in 2025.

NAIFA is sad to learn that association Past President Dennis R. Merideth, CLU, ChFC, of Tucson, AZ, passed away September 10. He was a loyal NAIFA member since 1971.

NAIFA-Los Angeles members have worked with local and state elected representatives to get official recognition of September as Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM). The City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles, and California State Senate have all issued resolutions or certificates recognizing NAIFA and LIAM.

NAIFA President Lawrence Holzberg, LACP, LUTCF, and President-Elect Byron Holz, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, CASL, LACP, are representing NAIFA's Office of the President in upcoming speaking engagements around the country.
