Before starting his career in the financial services industry, Angelucci worked as a union electrician. After working for the same company for 10 years, he found himself looking for a less physically demanding job. While he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, he had never considered a career with the company. One day he came across a flyer in the mail advertising a job opportunity. Angelucci took this as a sign and decided to give it a try. After all, he had always been interested in investments and personal financial planning because of his father’s influence.
Eight years later, Angelucci is grateful he took the leap. He now specializes in life insurance, long-term care, and tax diversification. He continues to look for new opportunities to grow, in fact, he just completed his LUTCF designation. When asked what he enjoys about his career, Angelucci says, “I like that I can just be myself and help others. I don’t sell products. I like to solve problems.” He says, “I go into people’s homes with no agenda. I am going there to see how I can help, if I can even help.” He is ethical and explains that if he can’t genuinely help someone, he will not press. He explains that his role is like a “financial doctor.” He says, “The more I know, the better I can diagnose.”
Angelucci also emphasizes the importance of speaking your clients’ language. He says that to have a career in this industry, “you’ve got to know how to talk to people. You have to speak their language, so they see that you’re a real person.” He also recognizes the value of listening to his clients and says, “The more you listen, the better you’re going to do. When your client comes to the next meeting and sees that you’ve listened and are offering solutions for their real-life circumstances, it gives you credibility and will make them trust you more.”
Angelucci is excited to be a new NAIFA member among a good community of advisors and top producers. He looks forward to learning “from the guys who have been in our shoes.”
Welcome to NAIFA, Henry!
