By Kevin Mayeux, CAE, NAIFA CEO
Just more than a month from now, I will attend my first NAIFA Career Conference and Annual Meeting, and I can’t wait. Like other Conference attendees, I look forward to the event’s nearly limitless networking opportunities. I want to hear your thoughts, ideas and concerns, and share my vision for the future of our association.
The conference will take place October 3-5 in New Orleans. If you haven’t yet registered, I urge you to do so today.
This is NAIFA’s largest face-to-face gathering each year, and it draws advisors from every part of the country and every practice specialty. There will be newbies, like me, and industry veterans who have seen it all and done it all in their decades of experience.
We have an impressive slate of Main Stage speakers who will offer practical advice and inspiration. They will motivate and educate you, and I guarantee at least one or two will make you laugh. Conference workshops drill deeper into what makes you and your colleagues successful advisors, providing everything from expert practice-management tips and sales ideas to regulatory updates and product discussions.
Speaking to long-time attendees, I’ve heard a consistent refrain: if you attend the NAIFA Career Conference, whether it’s your first time or your thirtieth, you will definitely learn something about your business, your colleagues, your clients or yourself. And you will have a good time in New Orleans – a true national treasure richly known for its food, music, charm and undeniably fun atmosphere.
You joined NAIFA because you are a member of a select profession dedicated to helping American families and small businesses achieve financial security. You also joined because you are committed to ensuring your own professional success. The Career Conference is one NAIFA benefit that allows you to come together with others in your field, as a community, and capitalize on our collective knowledge and experience.
This is an event not to be missed. I look forward to seeing you in New Orleans!
