Members will be able to hear from nominees for Secretary and the Board of Trustees prior to their formal election in Orlando this September.

The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors' Committee on Governance has nominated Cammie K. Scott, LUTCF, REBC, RHU, of CK Harp and Associates in Springdale, Ark., for the position of 2017-2018 NAIFA Secretary.

The Committee has also nominated five members to serve two-year terms on the NAIFA Board of Trustees. The nominees are: Connie Golleher, CLTC, of The Golleher Group, LLC. in McLean, Va.; Todd G. Grantham, CFP, CLU, ChFC, MSFS, of Northwestern Mutual in Durham, NC; Bryon A. Holz, ChFC, LUTCF, CASL, of Bryon Holz & Associates in Brandon, Fla.; Ryan J. Pinney of Pinney Insurance Center  in Roseville, Calif.; and John W. Wheeler, CFP, CLU, ChFC, CRPC of Water Tower Financial Partners, LLC in Chicago, Ill.

Keith Gilles, CFP, CLU, ChFC, of Ameritas in La Place, La. is slated to serve as NAIFA 2016-2017 President; Jill Judd, LUTCF, FSS, of State Farm Insurance Companies in Capitola, Calif, as President-Elect; and Matt Tassey, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, of E.A. Scribner Insurance Agency in Portland, Maine, as Treasurer.

The nominees will stand for election at the NAIFA Performance + Purpose 2017 conference in Orlando, Fla., September 8-10.

This is the second year of a new nomination process created by the Committee on Governance following an amendment to the NAIFA Bylaws passed at the 2015 NAIFA Annual Meeting in New Orleans. Under the new provision, the Committee on Governance recommends one nominee for each open Executive Committee and Board position.

The Governance Committee consists of twelve NAIFA members and is chaired by NAIFA Immediate Past President Jules Gaudreau.

“NAIFA is fortunate to have a very talented pool of dedicated volunteers,” said Gaudreau. “That makes the work of the committee both easier and more difficult. We had no shortage of qualified candidates to consider, but picking a final slate of nominees required a number of difficult choices. I’m proud that the committee has come up with a slate of individuals we feel confident will serve the interests of NAIFA members with passion, dedication, and creativity.”

Opportunities to Get to Know the Nominees

Biographical information for all nominees will be available on the Performance + Purpose 2017 page of the NAIFA website prior to June 15. Each nominee will also provide a brief introductory video.

Beginning approximately three weeks prior to the NAIFA Performance + Purpose 2017 conference, NAIFA will host a “Meet Your Future Leaders” webinar with all the nominees. The webinar will include statements from each nominee and feature Q&A sessions between NAIFA members and the nominees. The live webinar will be recorded and archived online.

Attendees at NAIFA Performance + Purpose 2017 in Orlando will have opportunities to meet their future leaders in person. Each nominee will speak at a special Future Leaders breakout session. Check the Performance + Purpose schedule for the time and location. The nominees will also meet with members at a “Future Leaders Booth” in the NAIFA Expo area.

“We are providing many opportunities for NAIFA members to get to know these nominees before Performance + Purpose in September and hear their vision for the future success of our association,” said Gaudreau. “I am confident our membership will be as impressed by the nominees as our committee has been.”
