April Is National Financial Literacy Month

NAIFA is pleased to announce that Charmell Davis, CMP, is NAIFA’s new Vice President of Member Advancement. In this role, she leads NAIFA’s newly created Member Advancement team and reports to CEO Kevin Mayeux, CAE. The Member Advancement team combines many of the functions of NAIFA’s former Professional Development and Professional Credentials Departments under Davis’s direction.

In addition to planning NAIFA events – including the Congressional Conference, National Leadership Conference, and Belong awards celebration -- Davis and her team will build out the recently established NAIFA Foundation for Financial Security, provide staff support for the award-winning Leadership in Life Institute, and guide the transition of the LUTCF credential to a fully owned product under the NAIFA brand.

“Charmell Davis is an accomplished professional who brings exceptional leadership, creativity, and talent to NAIFA and I am excited to welcome her to the association,” Mayeux said. “Charmell will play an important role in improving NAIFA’s membership experience, which is one of three key goals established by our NAIFA 2025 Strategic Plan. She will help us ensure that all NAIFA members have access to events and programs that offer meaningful professional and personal advancement opportunities.”

Davis has spent her career in the hospitality and event planning industry. Her association leadership experience in conference design and execution, along with exemplary collaboration skills, make her a welcome addition to the team. She previously worked at The Institute of Internal Auditors, where she served in conference planning roles at the leadership level for 12 years. Prior to that, she held positions with the Association of Change Management Professionals, Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando, NASA, and the Hampton Coliseum Hotel & Conference Center. Davis also owned and operated her own meeting planning business.

Davis attended Hampton University majoring in Sociology and holds a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification. She is a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and ASAE – The Center for Association Leadership. She enjoys giving back to her community by volunteering with Rosen Shingle Creek Meeting Planner Advisory Board, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, and the Salvation Army.
