NAIFA Members Provide Financial Security

Daniel Irizarry has been a loyal member of NAIFA since 2012. He currently practices in Manasquan, NJ, with Allied Wealth Partners.

Although Irizarry was referred to the industry by another professional who mentioned he would be “perfect for this line of work.” The ability to control his own scheduling and operate autonomously in order to “maximize efficiency in [his] life and spend as much time with [his] family as possible while earning a modest living” is what appealed to him most.

Irizarry feels proudest of his ability as a financial advisor to “educate [his] community about how to properly save for retirement and protect what has taken them a lifetime to build.” He believes the need for this type of guidance is never truly fulfilled to completion and is an ongoing need in the community, “I feel confident that we make a positive impact every day!”

Irizarry has found that he is able to make the biggest impact in his community through his specialized knowledge in special needs care. The ever-changing and challenging environment of families with special needs dependents and family members has allowed Irizarry to continue to hone his craft, “special needs [families] require more attention to detail. The challenges we are presented with are fun to strategize and solve so there is never a dull moment!” Not only is there never a dull moment, he emphasizes how “the career sells itself” and how there is “unlimited income potential.”

Irizarry was in the industry for five years before becoming a member of NAIFA. He was invited to a NAIFA-NJ meeting by a board member and was “immediately hooked.” NAIFA’s advocacy efforts were the reason for his immediate attraction. He explains, “I had no idea of all of the inner workings of NAIFA’s political advocacy efforts until becoming a member.” He finds that NAIFA’s advocacy is “extremely” important to the success of his business.

Irizarry also regularly attends virtual meetings with congresspeople and their legislative staff. He emphasizes how all of NAIFA’s advocacy efforts are invaluable to him, but notes that he is particularly fond of the success his local board has had in ensuring that “prospective financial professionals can [now] test from home.” On a recent trip to Washington, D.C., Irizarry had the opportunity to stand with fellow NAIFA members and educate Congressman Andy Kim on the importance of the SECURE Act. He reflects on the significance of its passing, “[The SECURE Act was] passed and was a major win for the community as it was overwhelmingly bi-partisan and in these times that unity is needed!”

Irizarry believes that NAIFA is invaluable and essential to a career in financial services. He encourages those who may have reservations about joining the association, “it is so rewarding being part of positive education and [when] the labor of your efforts has an impact in your local community.” He recommends NAIFA to those who specifically want to be involved in advocacy, “with over 131 years of [experience] and positive advocacy efforts NAIFA is the place to throw your hat in the ring and roll your sleeves up and help!"

Thank you, Daniel, for your loyal service to our industry and association. We are proud to call you one of our own.
