April Is National Financial Literacy Month

When Bryan Nester created Nester Insurance in 2010, his mission was simple—to help people understand their insurance options and make the best choice for their unique situations. Nester Insurance started as a solo operation offering group health, life, and disability plans for businesses but expanded staff in 2016 to help shape the group benefits agency it is today.

Big Agency Solutions. Small Agency Attention.

Now, Nester's team of six agents serves clients in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Florida. They offer services to small and mid-size businesses with 5 to 500 employees. Some of their offerings include:

  • Employee Benefits Consulting and Administration
  • Online Enrollment Implementation
  • HR/Compliance Solutions

In all things, the team sticks to their motto: “Big agency solutions. Small agency attention.”

Nester talks about the effect of the agency’s personal touch. “What makes us unique is that we really have an understanding and grasp of not just local products, but different states’ products as well,” he begins. “We are experts in both fully insured and self-insured options and only utilize products that we would buy ourselves.”

Nester Insurance is committed to serving people to better make the right decisions for their circumstances. "We believe in helping people. Navigating insurance and employee benefits can be time-consuming and frustrating without the right people or tools. We believe our value is simplifying tough decisions and delivering high customer service from beginning to end.” Their approach makes the process of choosing employee benefits more efficient, as employers and employees don’t have to spend time or energy trying to find the answers for themselves.

Nester talks about an experience that demonstrated the difference personalized attention can make. The agency was working with a construction company with a mix of blue-collar and white-collar workers. The company was using three different vendors for their employee benefits, and it was difficult for the employees to compare their options and choose the best one. Nester Insurance helped them combine the options into a single offering managed through their online platform. The team worked closely with the company’s employees, explaining the options, and answering their questions. “We have the ability to bring in an objective mindset to help employees and HR managers get through the enrollment process with ease,” says Nester.

The Value of NAIFA

Bryan Nester joined NAIFA in 2014 and decided to make Nester Insurance a NAIFA 100% Agency at the suggestion of his friend and fellow NAIFA member Carina Hatfield, owner of  Weigner Insurance and Financial Services. He talks about the value NAIFA has brought to the industry. “Early on, NAIFA was an outlet to help make sure industry stays strong,” he says. “Sometimes people don't understand how this industry really works, but NAIFA helps engage people.”

Nester says that being NAIFA members has exposed his team to the broader industry outside of their lines of business and has helped them become more comfortable and confident with other industry professionals. For newer Nester agents, NAIFA is the first opportunity to be engaged in a professional organization.

NAIFA’s advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels is essential, says Nester. He’s a firm believer in life insurance, both individual and group, and wants to make sure the benefits it provides to Main Street Americans are protected. NAIFA’s representation is a key part of that strategy.

We're #NAIFAproud to welcome Nester Insurance Inc. as a NAIFA 100% Agency and look forward to working with the team to protect Main Street USA.
