NAIFA member William J. (Bill) Braun, CLU, AEP, former native of Belleville, Illinois, recently celebrated an important milestone--he has had only one job for the past 65 years and considers himself lucky to have it.
Braun started in the life insurance profession in 1949, after serving in the navy during World War II. He joined the Decatur office of WestPoint Financial Group, a general agency of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) 65 years ago after his military service.
His work with the MassMutual agency was his first professional job. He joined the navy immediately after graduating from the University of Illinois with a major in marketing and has represented the financial-services firm continuously to the current date.
Along the way, Braun has served the industry in many capacities. He is past president of the Decatur Life Underwriters and the Central Illinois Chapter of Financial Service Professionals. He is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Decatur.
On the national level, Braun is past president of the Society of Financial Service Professionals and of the National Association of Estate Planners. He served on the board of The American College and is also a life member of the MDRT.
Braun is grateful to his many clients and looks forward to continuing to serve their financial and estate-insurance needs.
