April Is National Financial Literacy Month

Nominees for Secretary and the Board of Trustees to stand for election at NAIFA’s Performance+Purpose Conference this September in San Antonio

The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors' Committee on Governance has nominated Thomas O. Michel, LACP, of Michel Financial Group in Los Angeles for the position of 2018-2019 NAIFA Secretary.

The Committee has also nominated five members to serve two-year terms on the NAIFA Board of Trustees. The nominees are: Dennis P. Cuccinelli, LACP, of the National Life Group in Fairfield, N.J.; Lawrence Holzberg, LUTCF, of Wealth Advisory Group in New York; Beth D. Jones of the Dyste Williams Agency in Minneapolis, Minn; Delvin L. Joyce of The Prudential Insurance Company of America in Charlotte, N.C.;  Brian L. Wilson of MassMutual in Lexington, Ky.

Jill Judd, LUTCF, FSS, of State Farm Insurance Companies in Capitola, Calif., is slated to serve as NAIFA 2018-2019 President; Cammie K. Scott, MSIE, ChHC, CLTC, LUTF, REBC, RHU, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, of CK Harp & Associates in Springdale, Ark., as President-Elect; and Brock Jolly, CFP, CLU, ChFC, CLTC, CASL, CFBS, of Veritas Financial LLC/MassMutual Financial Group in McLean, Va., as Treasurer.

The nominees will stand for election at the NAIFA Performance + Purpose 2018 conference in San Antonio, Sept. 13-16, 2018.

The Governance Committee consists of twelve NAIFA members and is chaired by NAIFA Immediate Past President Paul Dougherty, LUTCF, FSS.

“The Committee received a very strong slate of applicants and worked tirelessly to vet each and every one,” Dougherty said. “NAIFA members are dedicated to serving the industry and their clients, and many hold leadership positions in their communities and at NAIFA state and local associations. The Committee had to make some tough decisions from a very qualified pool of applicants, but in the end I am confident we delivered with nominees who will serve NAIFA with intelligence, enthusiasm and passion. They reflect the diverse backgrounds, experience, and practice specialties that make NAIFA the premier agents association.”

Opportunities to Get to Know the Nominees

Biographical information for all nominees will be available on the Performance + Purpose 2018 page of the NAIFA website prior to June 15. The nominees will participate in a “Meet the Nominees” workshop prior to the election at the P+P Conference in San Antonio on Friday, Sept. 14 at 8:00 AM. Each nominee will provide brief remarks and engage NAIFA members in a question-and-answer session.
