April Is National Financial Literacy Month

Insurance and Financial advisors assembled bicycles and “sweet cases” for foster children during the September NAIFA event in San Antonio.

More than 100 members of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors donated their time and talents during NAIFA’s recent Performance + Purpose Conference in San Antonio to participate in a service project for Together We Rise, a nonprofit national organization dedicated to helping youth in foster care.

San Antonio CBS affiliate KENS5 covered the event on its local news broadcast.

NAIFA purchased 50 bicycles and 100 “sweet cases” – duffle bags for children to carry their belongings when traveling between homes – which NAIFA members then assembled for the children. The bicycles and bags were provided through Together We Rise to local charities in the San Antonio area to distribute to the children.

“NAIFA members are dedicated professionals whose mission is to help their clients achieve successful and secure financial futures,” said NAIFA CEO Kevin Mayeux, CAE. “They are known for being leaders and volunteers involved in their communities, so it’s no surprise they requested this service project as a way to connect with the San Antonio community.”

The service project has become a highlight of the NAIFA P+P conference. At the previous conference in Las Vegas, NAIFA members assembled and packaged meals for the charity Stop Hunger Now.
