Stephanie A. Rivas, ChFC, CLU, LUTCF, managing director at The Prudential Insurance Company of America, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (NAIFA), an association representing the interests of life insurance agents and financial advisors from every Congressional district in the U.S.
The board appointed Rivas by a special election during its April board call. As part of the 18-member Board of Trustees, Rivas will help formulate policy to benefit NAIFA members, the industry and consumers.
“Stephanie has successfully held leadership positions at NAIFA-New York State, and I am pleased to welcome her to this national role on the NAIFA Board of Trustees,” said NAIFA President Jill Judd. “The board will benefit from Stephanie’s knowledge and experience in the industry as we discuss strategies to help shape the legislative and regulatory landscape in insurance and financial services, and ensure that NAIFA membership remains on track for valuable membership service and growth on behalf of the industry and consumers we serve.”
In 2017, NAIFA’s Advisor Today magazine recognized Rivas with the “Four Under Forty Award,” given annually to four outstanding advisors who achieve excellence in their profession by or before the age of 40. Rivas was profiled in the September/October issue of Advisor Today.
Rivas currently serves on the Executive Committee as Secretary of NAIFA-New York State. In her current position as Managing Director of the New York Financial Group at Prudential, Rivas is responsible for more than $8.9 million in annual revenue. In 2017, Rivas' firm won the Prudential Trophy as the #1 firm in the company, which was the first time in company history a female led firm was the #1 office. In addition to her participation on the NAIFA-New York State board of directors, Rivas is a founder of two Women’s Study Groups, is on the GAMA Foundation Board of Directors, is on the executive council of the New York Round Table and volunteers on Prudential’s Diversity and Inclusion Council.
Rivas holds a MBA in Finance from Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif., and a bachelor’s of science in Business and Management from the University of Redlands in Redlands, Calif.
