Community Conversations, powered by NAIFA, will bring financial empowerment to communities through partnerships with members of Congress and NAIFA’s national network of insurance and financial professionals. These local events will give constituents access to trusted information and practical guidance to help them better understand the financial decisions that affect their families and their financial security.
Members of Congress know their communities and the financial challenges their constituents face. NAIFA brings the expertise. Through Community Conversations, congressional offices will partner with NAIFA and its members to develop educational events tailored to the needs of their districts, from understanding 530A accounts (Trump accounts), preparing for retirement, navigating Medicare and healthcare decisions, and building financial resilience to secure financial futures.
The inspiration for Community Conversations grew from conversations between members of Congress and NAIFA President Christopher Gandy. Fittingly, the first event was held in the first state jointly created by NAIFA and Congresswoman Sarah McBride of Delaware. Working hand in hand, NAIFA and other participating organizations pooled their expertise and resources to support constituents, who overwhelmingly reported that the event was helpful and left them better prepared to make retirement decisions.
This collaborative experience demonstrated the immense value of bringing trusted financial expertise directly into communities, inspiring NAIFA to build a model for partnering with interested members of Congress to bring similar educational opportunities to constituents across the country. Stay tuned for more events to come.
