NAIFA is proud to announce Dan Mangus as our newest contributor, providing content to enhance members’ knowledge in the insurance industry space.
Dan’s passion for the insurance industry is unmatched. After high school, each day, he spent his time setting appointments for his mother, who worked with Medicare insurance products. In 1982, Dan started his first insurance agency at the age of 18 and immediately began networking for growth.
By age 21, he was the president of the local association of life underwriters and began teaching LUTC courses, eventually becoming the area LUTC chairman. Through hard work, his client list grew into the thousands and included individuals of all ages. In the early 1990s Dan had the privilege of becoming affiliated with Senior Marketing Specialists. That relationship grew from doing joint seminars and consulting to joining SMS full-time in 2012 as their National Sales Director. Today Dan's current position of Vice President of Sales, serving over 10,000 agents nationwide, gives him a unique insight into customers, agents, and FMO staff.
As a NAIFA partner Dan has agreed to share his insights and knowledge with our members. He contributes content to NAIFA’s Advisor Today platform, as well as the blogs on NAIFA’s Business Performance Center, Limited and Extended Care Planning Center, and Talent Development Center.
Although Dan has been sharing his insights and knowledge since the early 1980s, more recently, you can find him teaching Medicare courses at universities, keynoting national insurance conferences, or teaching Medicare certification courses for organizations like the National Guardianship Association and the American Association of Daily Money Managers. Dan is also an Expert Contributor for the RICP designation program through the American College of Financial Services and is the published author of the book series Talking MEDICARE, a resource guide for advisors in the Medicare market. He also sits on several different advisory boards, such as the LECP Advisory Council for NAIFA, Membership Council for NAHU, and the Medicare and Life Councils with Integrity Marketing Group. Dan is also a frequent content contributor to industry and senior magazines and online media.
