April Is National Financial Literacy Month

22-year-old Laura Fazzini discovered her passion for helping people at an early age. She grew up watching her father, David Fazzini, LUTCF, co-founder of Premier Planning Group and a loyal NAIFA member since 1991, serving his community and grow his practice. Fazzini had the same desire to make a difference in her community, so she spent her summers during college interning for three companies, gaining valuable experience in several different areas of insurance and financial services. When she graduated, she chose to join her father at Premier Planning Group and has been learning and growing in the industry ever since.

Making a Difference

As a young professional, Fazzini tends to work with fellow young professionals, couples, and families. She helps them gain financial security through life insurance, disability insurance, and fixed annuities, and she plans to add savings and investing advising after she obtains her series licenses.

Fazzini describes herself as a social person who likes making an impact—a winning combination for any insurance and financial services professional. The best part of her job, she says, is building relationships with clients and helping them achieve their goals. “You see so many different personalities, different people who save different ways or have different goals and then you get to watch them achieve those goals along the way,” she says. “That’s my favorite part about it.”

During her time in the industry, Fazzini has found that many people didn’t receive a financial education and are embarrassed about it. She talks about one couple who were hesitant to work with her—not because of her age, but because they didn’t think their income was high enough to need professional help. She was eager to share her knowledge and expertise to help the couple feel more comfortable. “I was happy that I could pass [that knowledge] along and make an impact,” she says. “I think it's important for people to realize that everyone deserves a plan moving forward.”

Joining NAIFA

Fazzini learned about NAIFA from her father and from Mike Polin, Premier Planning Group co-founder and a loyal NAIFA member since 2005. She's looking forward to taking advantage of NAIFA’s educational resources and networking opportunities. “I'm trying to jump-start this learning curve process as fast as possible,” she begins. “One way I've learned to do that is by joint work and talking to as many other financial advisors as possible—learning from them, hearing different people's experiences, different marketing ideas, sales ideas, and presentations, and running with it.”

Outside of the Office

When she’s not working, Fazzini stays involved in her community, volunteering with her local food pantry, 100 Women of Phoenixville, and the Phoenixville Chamber of Commerce. She loves trying new foods and spending time with her family and cat, Mango. She's also a former college soccer player and now plays in her local women’s adult league.

Thank you, Laura, for your hard work and dedication. We look forward to a bright future in the association for you and are #NAIFAproud to call you one of our own.
