NAIFA Members Provide Financial Security

Brandon Chambers didn’t follow a traditional path into the financial services industry. After several years working in the chemical field with long, irregular hours, he began seeking a career that offered more purpose and better work-life balance. A call from a longtime friend—now his general agent—reignited a conversation about joining the Knights of Columbus as a field agent. With a leap of faith and a desire to serve others more meaningfully, Brandon entered the profession in 2017 and hasn’t looked back.

What began as a simple meeting turned into a defining career move. With his general agent’s support, Brandon had time to study for his license and receive hands-on training. He shadowed his mentor, taking detailed notes at every appointment, and built a strong foundation that helped him grow into a confident, client-focused professional.

What Brandon finds most rewarding about his work is helping clients through both joyful and difficult moments. Whether it’s navigating retirement planning or supporting families after a loss, he values being a steady presence who simplifies complex processes like pensions, Social Security, and other paperwork during stressful times. His dedication to service has been a consistent motivator.

Brandon joined NAIFA while pursuing his LUTCF designation and immediately saw the value in professional associations. From NAIFA to MDRT, he views these affiliations as critical resources for growth and career development. He believes NAIFA's commitment to education, community, and advocacy makes it a vital partner for anyone in the financial services industry.

As an Investment Advisor Representative with a Series 65 license, Brandon is expanding his knowledge of investments to round out his expertise in retirement and insurance planning. His goal is to become just as knowledgeable in investment services as he is in insurance, applying the same obsessive drive to study, practice, and master the craft.

For Brandon, NAIFA’s advocacy work is one of the organization’s most critical functions. He recognizes how much policy can impact the profession and the clients they serve. “Our lawmakers can either make us or break us. Having the chance to advocate for sensible legislation and protect our industry is crucial. Right now, there are proposed changes—like the elimination of taxes on Social Security—that could make our work even more impactful.”

Brandon’s enthusiasm for the profession is clear. He believes this career is perfect for those who are self-motivated and passionate about helping others. “If everyone could do it, everyone would,” he says, recognizing that it takes energy, discipline, and drive to thrive. But for those who commit, the rewards are immense.

He speaks with gratitude about his NAIFA membership, which gives him a sense of support and connection. “It can be lonely out there,” he says. “But knowing NAIFA is behind you makes a big difference.”

Reflecting on his journey, Brandon is proud of how far he’s come and excited for what’s ahead. He once had the opportunity to speak at MDRT—an experience he never imagined when first starting out. With a growing family and a deep commitment to his work, Brandon looks forward to continuing to serve others and contribute to a profession he loves.
