NAIFA is sad to learn that NAIFA-Indiana Past President George "Andy" Beutter, LUTCF, FSS, LACP, passed away on July 2 in South Bend, IN. Well-loved by his community, Beutter’s passion was protecting families. He treated his clients like family and was known for his kindness, optimism, and passion for life.

Beutter became a loyal member of NAIFA (then the National Association of Life Underwriters) in 1990. He served in many roles with NAIFA-IN, including as President from 2011-2012, Trustee, Treasurer, and member of the Government Relations Board and Committee and the State Executive Committee.

Beutter was actively involved in NAIFA’s political advocacy at the state and federal levels and served as NAIFA-IN's VP of Advocacy. During his 32 years with NAIFA, he attended 12 consecutive national conventions and 20 consecutive Legislative Day on the Hill events. He was honored with NAIFA’s National Quality Award and received NAIFA-IN's Jack Peckinpaugh Associate of the Year Award in 2018.

During his 34-year career with Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, he was a prominent leader and served on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. He also served as a leader in many civic organizations, community activities, and charitable organizations.

Beutter is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Janice; three children; two grandchildren; and many members of his extended family.
