Diane Boyle, senior vice president of government relations for the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), has been named one of the Advocacy Association’s Top 20 Advocacy Professionals for 2026.
The annual awards recognize 20 advocacy leaders who are advancing the profession through creativity, purpose and impact. Boyle was selected for her leadership in advocacy, commitment to developing financial professionals as advocates, and innovative efforts to bring new voices into the policymaking process.
Among Boyle’s signature initiatives is NAIFA’s annual Women’s Fly-In, which she helped create to introduce more women financial professionals to political engagement and grassroots advocacy. The two-day program brings together companies and their advisors for advocacy training, policy education and meetings with lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
The program has produced measurable results. Following one Women’s Fly-In, two NAIFA members raised legislation during a meeting with a U.S. senator’s office. The office later credited the NAIFA members with sparking the senator’s interest in the issue, which ultimately led him to sponsor a Senate companion bill.
“Diane understands that effective advocacy isn’t simply about being in the room, it’s about preparing people to make the most of the opportunity when they get there,” said NAIFA CEO Kevin Mayeux, CAE. “She has spent her career building relationships, educating our members and giving financial professionals the tools and confidence to tell their stories in a way that moves policy. The Women’s Fly-In is a great example of how Diane has expanded NAIFA’s advocacy reach while developing the next generation of advocates.”
Boyle oversees NAIFA’s government relations activities and works with policymakers, industry partners, state chapters and NAIFA members to advance public policies that support financial professionals and the consumers they serve. Education and member engagement are central to that work, helping financial professionals understand how legislative and regulatory developments affect their businesses, their clients and their communities.
“Diane advocates on behalf of NAIFA members, but at the same time, she teaches us how to advocate for ourselves, our profession and our clients,” said NAIFA President Christopher L. Gandy, LACP. “That’s what makes her impact so powerful. When a financial professional walks into a lawmaker’s office prepared to explain how a policy will affect real families and businesses back home, Diane has often had a hand in making that conversation possible. This recognition is incredibly well deserved.”
The Advocacy Association serves grassroots, communications and government affairs professionals and works to advance the advocacy profession through education, collaboration, thought leadership and professional development. Its Top 20 Advocacy Awards honor standout leaders from nonprofits, trade associations, corporations and universities who are shaping policy, mobilizing voices and building coalitions.
Boyle and the other 2026 honorees will be recognized at the Top 20 in ’26 Advocacy Awards Reception on Oct. 22.
