Honoring its deep commitment to the communities it serves, our partner, OneAmerica®,, kicked off its eighth annual Week of Caring on August 30th. Associates will provide more than 1,800 hours of support to help nonprofits across the country address vital needs.
“OneAmerica has an unwavering commitment to civic service. Despite the challenging circumstance of this time, we are committed to supporting our communities through our Week of Caring, a foundational way our associates get involved,” said Karin Sarratt, executive vice president at OneAmerica. “In our ‘TBD’ world, our guarantee is to be useful in-person, virtually, and everything in between.”
OneAmerica is sustaining its long heritage of community service by offering its associates 25 combined in-person and virtual volunteer activities. Of the volunteer opportunities, 40% are in-person in key communities where OneAmerica has a presence. These include its Indianapolis headquarters and company offices in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; in Portland, Maine; and in San Diego and San Marcos, California. Virtual volunteer opportunities are also available for every associate.
Week of Caring is being provided in concert with United Way agencies and local partners, including:
- Alzheimer’s Association
- Children’s TherAplay
- Christamore House
- Dress for Success Indianapolis
- Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana
- HVAF - Helping Veterans and Families
- Westminster Neighborhood Services
- Second Helpings
- Shepherd Community Center
Additional activities include a Red Cross blood drive, a United Way children’s book drive, and a second activity involving support to Second Helpings.
As it did in 2020, OneAmerica will combine its #WeekOfCaring with the company’s United Way giving campaign, an annual employee pledge drive. Last year it raised nearly $800,000.
OneAmerica is an Educational Partner to NAIFA.
