NAIFA Members Provide Financial Security

Mike McGlothlin, CFP, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, NSSA, Executive Vice President, Retirement, at Ash Brokerage, is the 2024 recipient of the Kenneth Black Jr. Leadership Award. McGlothlin manages a staff of more than 65 employees and has maintained a 90% retention rate. Under his leadership, more than 25 employees have bolstered their professional skills and received in-house promotions. The team has achieved a remarkable 300% growth over six years.  McGlothlin served on the Society of FSP National Executive Committee from 2018 to 2021 and was National President in 2020-2021. Previously, he served terms on the FSP National Board of Directors from 2011 through 2016. He was President and Director of the Society of FSP Central Indiana Chapter from 2002 through 2005. 
 
He is the author of several books, including Free Throws for Financial Professionals: Winning Principles for Unlocking Business Success, Above the Clouds: Winning Strategies from 30,000 Feet, and The New Rules of Retirement Planning. He contributed as a writer to Prepare to Win: Lessons Learned at Knight School and is a frequent contributor to the Forbes Financial Council. During his tenure on FSP’s Executive Committee, McGlothlin fulfilled more than 50 speaking engagements and was highly sought-after for FSP national and chapter events.

He exemplifies the core values of FSP and NAIFA. He has demonstrated his personal commitment as a lifelong learner and educator and ethical professional. He has built and nurtured relationships throughout the industry.” 

FSP established the Kenneth Black Jr. Leadership Award in 2006 to honor members who demonstrate exemplary leadership qualities and have made significant contributions toward fulfilling FSP's core values of relationships, education, and ethics. NAIFA and FSP merged in January 2024. McGlothlin received the award on January 26 in Nashville at the FSP Institute.
