NAIFA is deeply concerned by company announcements indicating they no longer will pay commissions to Medicare agents. And today, Humana announced they will no longer use agents to sell Prescription Drug Plans (PDP). This alarming trend threatens not only the livelihood of financial professionals but also the millions of seniors who rely on them for help navigating their healthcare options. If you learn of other announcements, please forward them to communications@naifa.org.
Through the NAIFA Medicare Collective, we’re demanding fair treatment for agents and brokers and confronting instability, regulatory overreach, and compensation uncertainty through coordinated legislative, regulatory, research, and thought-leadership efforts. NAIFA also joined with other agent associations in submitting a letter to CMS Administrator Dr. Oz to express concerns about the Medicare Advantage and Medicare Pard D markets, and to offer recommendations for strengthening consumer access to care. See other examples of NAIFA Advocacy in Action.
There is strength in numbers. The Medicare Collective Advisory Council is committed to expanding NAIFA membership and growing our collective voice in Washington and across every state. Together, we will ensure that financial professionals are treated fairly and that seniors continue to have access to expert, ethical guidance.
Thank you for standing with NAIFA in this critical fight. Your membership empowers us to advocate effectively on your behalf and protect the profession that protects America’s seniors.
